Tips and guides for women's shoes care

Introduction to shoes care

At èllementa, every pair is crafted from the finest calfskin, lambskin, and nappa leathers—materials chosen not just for their elegance, but for their ability to age gracefully with care. Like a cherished heirloom, your shoes deserve attention to preserve their supple comfort and timeless sophistication.

Why Care Matters
Natural leather is a living material, thriving when nurtured. Regular maintenance ensures:

* Lasting Comfort: Well-conditioned leather molds to your foot, reducing break-in time.

* Unfading Beauty: Protection from moisture and dirt preserves rich colors and textures.

* Durability: Simple habits—like rotating pairs and using shoe trees—extend their lifespan for decades.

Our Philosophy
Just as our artisans dedicate hours to hand-stitching seams and aligning patterns, we invite you to invest moments in care. By following these steps, you honour the craftsmanship behind every èllementa shoe and ensure they remain a staple in your wardrobe for years to come.

Women's Leather Shoes Care FQAs

    • Step 1: Wipe gently with a soft, damp cloth (microfiber works best).
    • Step 2: For stubborn stains, use a drop of mild soap (like Castile) mixed with water. Dab with a soft-bristled brush, then wipe clean.
    • Never: Use alcohol, vinegar, or harsh chemicals—they strip natural oils.
    • Every 3–4 weeks for frequent wear.
    • Every 2–3 months for occasional use.
    • Pro Tip: Condition after cleaning while leather is slightly damp for deeper absorption.
  • Avoid them! Most contain alcohol or fragrances that dry out leather. Stick to a damp cloth or pH-neutral leather cleanser.

    1. Use a lint-free cloth (old cotton T-shirts work).
    2. Massage in circular motions, focusing on stress points (toes, heels).
    3. Let it soak for 5 minutes, then buff off excess.
  • We don’t recommend it. Natural oils can go rancid or darken leather. Opt for a high-quality leather cream instead.

    • Pre-treat: Apply a water-based protector  every 2 months.
    • After exposure: Blot wet shoes with a towel, stuff with newspaper, and air-dry away from heat.
    • Salt stains: Wipe with a 1:1 vinegar/water mix, then condition.
  • Yes, buttest firston a hidden spot (like the inside heel). Some sprays may slightly darken leather.

    • Do: Use cedar shoe trees (absorbs moisture, prevents creases).
    • Don’t: Store in plastic—leather needs to breathe. Use dust bags instead.
    • Climate tip: Keep silica gel packets nearby to control humidity.
    • Insert boot shapers or rolled-up magazines when not in use.
    • Store them upright—never on their sides.
    1. Use a horsehair brush to remove dust.
    2. Apply cream polish (not wax) with a dauber in small circles.
    3. Buff with a microfiber cloth—always in one direction.
    • Light scuffs: Rub with the edge of a spoon to redistribute oils.
    • Deep scratches: Use a leather filler, then blend with matching cream polish.
    • Sprinkle baking soda inside overnight, then vacuum.
    • Place them in sunlight (not direct) for 1–2 hours.
    • Prevent it: Rotate shoes every 48 hours to air out.

    2. For extreme cases, use a leather softener.
